We hold a couple of titles including being the nation’s largest cheese company and also the world’s largest producer of mozzarella; the most popular cheese used on pizzas throughout the globe. From three individuals in a small cheese shop in the early 1950s, we have grown to over 4,300 employees throughout our 13 global locations.

Responsibilities

We Ask Of You To:

  • Manage the plant’s financial performance to assure quality products are delivered in an environmentally responsible manner at the least possible cost.
  • Manage the department to meet departmental objectives and achieve quality goals as stated in the business plan.
  • Drive problem solving with respect to plant production issues.
  • Identify opportunities before they become a problem, focusing on root cause analysis and preventative actions.
  • Develop the core leadership competencies and technical skills of department employees, focusing on individual and organizational development.
  • Monitor process and make changes as needed to produce product within customer and regulatory specifications.
  • Reduce outside customer complaints to less than or equal to set targets.
  • Assist plant in achieving 99% customer service compliance for whey product orders processed.
  • Monitor the total production process including material receipts, equipment, process methodology, mechanical repair work orders, on-the-job training of employees, writing and development standard operating procedures, and maintenance of product quality and quantity standards.
  • Support a continuous 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Qualifications

You Have (Minimum Qualifications):

  • 2 years of progressive leadership and management experience in production in the food or related industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or other related field or equivalent experience of five (5) years.
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn SAP or similar integrated manufacturing system.

 

We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Prior cheese experience with whey processing, dried dairy, and/or pharmaceutical production or similar process.
  • Experience in a continuous flow food or beverage manufacturing plant.
  • Dairy (Yogurt, Cheese, Cream, or Milk) production experience.
  • Continuous improvement management process such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
