Overview

The Human Resources Assistant provides part-time administrative and project support to the Human Resources function for the Waverly plant.

 

Responsibilities

Office Management & Administrative Support

  • Confidentially files HR-specific records and employee files such as personnel, training, legal, and medical files.
  • Helps to maintain existing input into HRIS systems such as SAP, KRONOS Timekeeping System, and iCIMS recruiting system.
  • Assists with completion, tracking, and reporting of employee attendance policy.
  • Provides administrative support to HR Manager and HR Generalist by typing meeting minutes, notes, incident reports, etc.
  • Manages, maintains, and submits check requests for approval and payment.
  • Runs errands for the HR department as needed and plans and coordinates for meals when required.
  • Orders necessary office supplies for HR department.
  • Miscellaneous HR projects as assigned.

Employee Relations

  • Establishes and maintains an employee friendly environment.
  • Assists with coordination of all plant employee relation events and recognition programs such as Company Picnic, Christmas Party, Employee of the Month/Quarter, Leadership Dinner, etc.
  • Orders flowers and baby blankets as needed.
  • Prepares and distributes monthly plant newsletter.
  • Maintains all plant communication/bulletin boards as needed for Human Resources.

Recruiting & Staffing

  • Helps to review and phone screen online applications for non-exempt positions and to disposition in iCIMs recruiting system accordingly.
  • Assists HR Generalist and HR Manager with scheduling of phone and onsite interviews for job candidates.
  • Assists with completion of all recruitment/new hire processes such as scheduling physicals, background checks, and reference checks.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required.
  • Some experience in a professional office environment.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, dairy or food manufacturing a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities, and Competencies:

 

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Proficient with basic mathematical skills.
  • Above average customer service mindset.
