  • Overview

    This position requires responsibility for vacation, day’s off, and break periods of brine and cleanup operations, CIP 1 operations, CIP 2 operations, DMC operations, and dry mixer sanitation operations in the cheese department.



    The relief operator must be able to read/write and perform basic arithmetic in learning the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), safe handling of hazardous chemicals and accurate record keeping as required in the positions. Approximately three (3) months on-the-job experience is necessary in order to become proficient in the CIP systems, HTST, separators, vats, DMC, mixer, brine tank, finesavers, powder blend system, and milk receiving.


    The incumbent must be able to communicate well while interfacing with co-workers, lab techs, foreperson/supervisor and maintenance.  The relief operator must understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and safe work practices as they pertain to positions throughout the department.  The incumbent will be required to continually stand/walk, climb, and repeatedly lift fifty (50) pound bags; all in potentially wet/slippery areas. Must be able to work in a hot/humid environment.

    General Experience/Educational Background


    • Must be able to communicate effectively in writtern and verbal communication
    • Must have a strong mathematical skill set
    • Minimum of a year of prior manufacturing experience
    • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy
    • Be able to work all shifts, weekends, Holidays



    • Prior cheese and/or dairy foods manufacturing experience
    • Technical background
