    Leprino Foods Company, the World’s Largest Manufacturer of Mozzarella Cheese, has an immediate opening for an Accounting Senior Analyst at its Tracy facility. Leprino Foods – Tracy currently processes three million pounds of milk a day. We produce more than 400,000 lbs of cheese per day. We are a union plant and currently have over 300 employees. Leprino Foods is currently located in eight locations across the United States – three are in California.

    Position Purpose: To assist the Plant Controller and Accounting Supervisor in maintaining accurate and timely operational reporting and financial statements for the Tracy Plant; provide statistical analysis and production information relative to the plant; and ensure company financial objectives are met.

     

    Responsibilities

    Under general supervision performs analytical tasks of more than average difficulty, requiring the assumption of some individual responsibility and initiates an above average knowledge of office practices, specific experience or training.

     

    The job consists of, but not restricted to the following duties/responsibilities:

      • Prepare various daily, weekly, and month-end production reports including the Cheese, Whey, and DIM Yield & Efficiency reports.
      • Verify daily production data in the SAP system, and MES system to validate SAP Production pounds.
      • Validate daily consumption in MES and SAP and manually hand key all items that error out on consumption reports.  Review all inventory location reports and error reports and work with operations to resolve. 
      • Work directly with operations to understand and improve operational results. This includes but not limited to, on the floor audits, write up recommendations to improve processes, assist with implementations of these new processes, etc.
      • Prepares miscellaneous sales invoicing, month-end accruals, and routine clerical/ analytical activities.
      • Performs vacation and general relief, receptionist relief, and other duties and tasks as assigned.
      • Effectively communicate with all levels of employees within the organization, as well as customers, vendors and visitors.
      • Departments team participation:  G.M.P. audits, behavior sampling, safety audit, accident investigation, management presentations, etc.
      • Will work all shifts as assigned for inventory and closing.
      • DLP invoice processing
      • Miscellaneous tasks to be research and performed in SAP

       

      In addition, the Senior Clerk may be able to train on and provide backup as directed by management for the following positions:  Processing, Milk/ Receptionist, and other positions or tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have at least an Associate’s degree in Accounting or three to five years of applicable experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.  Candidate must pass the following tests:  Excel, Word, Typing at 35 WPM, Ten Key at 120 KSPM, and the Accounting Clerk test (which includes AP, AR, Payroll).  Success in this position requires strong analytical and detail orientation. Written communication skills are needed in developing reports and effective verbal communication skills are needed because of the extensive interaction with all levels of management.
