    Leprino Foods Company, a global leader in the dairy food and ingredient industry, is seeking a Eagle Operator to join our team located in Roswell, NM. Leprino Foods is the world's largest supplier of mozzarella cheese and one of the largest suppliers of premium dairy nutrition ingredients.     The Eagle Operator maintains a clean environment, adheres to all the Good Manufacturing Practices, wears Proper Protective Equipment at all times, Understands Standard Operating Procedures and knows Preventative Controls pertaining to Food Safety and USDA regulations.  This position monitors product flow from the exit of the freezer up to the product being cased.  This position assures product is properly weighed and cased.


    Critical Attributes and Representative Responsibilities:


    • Monitors product flow on production line assuring product is processed, cut, inspected and packaged correctly.
    • Operates and monitors equipment by changing parameters to obtain correct finished product weight.
    • Understands where all magnets and metal detectors are located.
    • Communicates effectively for product transitions.
    • Understands customer specifications and knows where to find customer information.
    • Follow instructions well and follows direction.
    • Willingness to be flexible to other job tasks, such as housekeeping, equipment cleaning, and any other job task that will be assigned by forepersons and/or supervisor.
    • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices at all times.
    • Demonstrate good safety behaviors and constantly apply them by following all applicable safety rules and regulations.
    • Communicate as required with Supervisors, Forepersons, and coworkers.
    • Can demonstrate Lockout/Tagout procedures for all equipment.
    • This position is responsible for food safety and food quality.

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Ability to learn and apply operating principles of processing equipment (freezer, eagle, conveyors, cuber, dicer, etc.) and CIP of this equipment.
    • Ability to learn and apply operating principles of all processing CIP/COP systems.
    • Ability to learn and apply general cleaning principles.
    • Ability to learn and safely handle and use cleaning chemicals.
    • Ability to learn and maintain GMPs and sanitation practices.
    • Ability to perform essential job functions.
    • Ability to maintain or exceed plant, company and customer quality standards.
    • Ability to operate any combination of three pieces of processing equipment/machinery.
    • Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions.
    • Must be able to read and comprehend procedures which direct the position’s assignments.
    • Must be able to communicate well between co-workers, forepersons and supervisor.
    • Must be able to understand and comply with all food safety, USDA, PPE, SOP, GMP, FSMA regulations and requirements.
    • Must be willing to support a 24/7 operation by being available to work weekends and holidays.
    • The position requires standing, walking, climbing up steps/ladder, and lifting.


    Minimum Qualifications:


    • Ability to perform essential job functions safely..
    • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
    • Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation.
    • Must be able to work a minimum of 8.5 hours.
    • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy

      Language and Technical Skills

      • Good communication skills
      • Able to read, write, and speak the English language
      • Able to read, write, and perform intermediate mathematical calculations
      • Must be able to maintain accurate records 

      Reasoning Ability

      • Good time management skills
      • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
      • Able to interpret data and make necessary decisions

      Physical Demands and Work Environment

      • This position will be exposed inside ambient temperatures and may include  a wet / slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature
      • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods
      • Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 pounds
      • Bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing up stairs/ladders are required throughout the shift.
      • Standing and walking are required throughout the shift.
