This position requires responsibility all operations that pertain to mixer, extruder, finesavers, and brine tank operations in the Cheese Department.
The Cheese Operator must be able to read/write and perform basic arithmetic in learning the Plant Standard Operating Procedures (PSOP's), safe handling of chemicals and accurate record keeping and transactions in MES as required in the positions. Approximately three (3) months on-the-job experience is necessary in order to become proficient in the CIP systems, HTST, separators, vats, DMC, mixer, brine tank, finesavers, powder blend system, and milk receiving.
Must be able to work (12 hour shifts), off-shifts, Holidays and weekends
The incumbent will be required to continually stand/walk, climb, and repeatedly lift fifty (50) pound bags; all in potentially wet/slippery areas.
Must be able to work in a hot/humid environment
The incumbent must be able to communicate well while interfacing with co-workers, lab techs, foreperson/supervisor and maintenance.
The operator must understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and safe work practices as they pertain to positions throughout the department.
