Overview

Leprino Foods Company, a global leader in the dairy food and ingredient industry, is seeking a Deboxer/Feeder Operator to join our team located in Roswell, NM. Leprino Foods is the world's largest supplier of mozzarella cheese and one of the largest suppliers of premium dairy nutrition ingredients. Our customers and business partners span the globe and include many of the world's largest food companies, restaurant chains and distributors.

 

The Deboxer/Feeder Operator is expected to maintain a clean environment, adhere to all the Good Manufacturing Practices, wear Proper Protective Equipment, Understand Standard Operating Procedures and know Preventative Controls pertaining to Food Safety and USDA regulations. The feeder ensures that an adequate and steady amount of product is fed to the cubers. This position is to monitor the condition of product (whether it is hard or soft) and be able to process it. The position also entails making sure we are adding product back onto line that has been bulked off.

Responsibilities

Critical Attributes and Representative Responsibilities:

 

  • Attentive to product condition and makes sure all cubers are being fed properly throughout the line.
  • Organizes all products that need to be reworked throughout the remainder of run.
  • Monitors equipment and conveyers making sure they are operating correctly.
  • Complies with all product handling and food safety regulations.
  • Communicates effectively for product transitions.
  • Understands customer specifications and knows where to find customer information.
  • Takes instructions well and follows direction.
  • Willingness to be flexible to other job tasks, such as housekeeping, equipment cleaning, and any other job task that will be assigned by forepersons and/or supervisor.
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices at all times.
  • Demonstrate good safety behaviors and constantly apply them by following all applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Can demonstrate Lockout/Tagout procedures for all equipment.
  • Communicate as required with Supervisors, Forepersons, other departments and coworkers.
  • This position is responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55lbs

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical problems.
  • Knows customer specifications by using Hummingbird for all product information.
  • Understands customer specifications and knows how and where to find information in the DOP and Hummingbird.
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices always.
  • Can follow written and verbal instructions/directions.
  • Demonstrate good safety behaviors and constantly apply them by following all applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate Lockout/Tagout procedures for all equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to perform essential job functions safely..
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8.5 hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy
  •  

    Language and Technical Skills

    • Good communication skills
    • Able to read, write, and speak the English language
    • Able to read, write, and perform intermediate mathematical calculations
    • Must be able to maintain accurate records 

    Reasoning Ability

    • Good time management skills
    • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
    • Able to interpret data and make necessary decisions

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • This position will be exposed inside ambient temperatures and may include  a wet / slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature
    • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 pounds
    • Bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing up stairs/ladders are required throughout the shift.
    • Standing and walking are required throughout the shift.
