Overview

This position requires the safe operation of the whey dryer and bulk load out system in accordance with standard operating procedures while monitoring the quality of processed product.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the dryer and associated systems.
  • Load and unload liquid and dry whey to and from trucks.
  • Monitor dryer settings and temperatures.
  • React quickly and adjust / troubleshoot equipment to maintain product specifications.
  • Complete Daily Checklists.
  • Handle and test chemicals.
  • Enter data into computer system.
  • Monitor and test powder quality.
  • Recognize and communicate potential deviant situations.
  • Communicate clearly with the Quality Department, Cheese Production Operators and department management.
  • Apply lockouts to equipment as required.
  • Any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Six months of experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Action oriented and the capacity to drive for results.
  • This position requires the ability to utilize basic math skills and read in order to follow a checklist.

Preferred

  • Prior food industry experience
