Overview

The Quality Execution Technician requires responsibility for monitoring all aspects of product quality, from incoming raw materials to the finished product, and reports results to appropriate management personnel. The Quality Execution Technician must be able to understand the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), follow safe handling of hazardous chemicals, and keep accurate record-keeping as required. The position reports to the Quality Execution Supervisor with strong direct working relationships with Quality Execution Manager, and other functional department managers and supervisors. No employees report to the position.

Responsibilities

Plant Operations/Quality:

  • Notify Cheese Supervisor if cheese is out of specification.
  • Perform product and process checks and enter data into computer in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Run bacti tests on the beginning, middle and end of run cheese for each product code.
  • Document temperature and weight of cheese sample throughout the production run.
  • Verify employees are wearing required PPE and complying with GMP requirements.

Miscellaneous/Quality:

  • Re-stock supplies
  • Perform general housekeeping in work area
  • Perform calibration testing
  • Communicate promptly any out of specification results to appropriate group leaders, supervisors and managers
  • Any additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule in order to support 24/7 operation, including weekends, holidays, and off-shifts.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to read and write and perform basic mathematical functions.

Preferred:

  • Prior quality assurance experience in the food industry.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other manufacturing software system, as well as Microsoft Office.
  • Prior work experience in dairy or food manufacturing.

Skills & Abilities/Competencies:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including high customer focus with sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office & SAP (or similar) programs.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Able to interpret data and make necessary decisions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • This position will be exposed to working in a wet/slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature.
  • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry moderate weights occasionally throughout the shift (up to 30 lbs).
  • Occasional walking, standing, climbing up stairs/ladders, bending, and reaching required.
